Obtained his
B.App.Sc in Medical Biophysics in 1985 from Swinburne University
of Technology SUT. He later received Graduate Diplomas, in Digital
Electronics and Computer Systems Engineering, also from SUT.
While an undergraduate
Fabian was employed as a research officer in the faculty of Applied
Science at SUT. Upon graduation Fabian was appointed senior research
scientist with the Swinburne Centre for Applied Neuroscience, SCAN.
While at SCAN, Fabian was responsible for several long term research
projects and co-authored a number of research papers on related
subjects:
- " Topographical
Distribution of Steady Stare Visually Evoked Potential's ". Neuroscience
letters (1988).
- "Cognition
And Steady State Visually Evoked Potential ".Biomedical Engineering
Conference (1988).
- " Beck Depression
Inventory Score Correlated with Visually Evoked Potential's Volunteers
". Australian Society for Psychiatric Research (1987).
Fabian's involvement
with research has given him extensive knowledge of statistical analyse
in medicine and the management of computer resources. While the
patient contacts involved in that research has made Fabian aware
of the various issue of privacy and confidentiality.
In 1991, Fabian
became interested in the Instrumentation and Engineering aspect
