Paul is a tertiary
qualified professional with over eight years of Project Management
experience within numerous industry domains including, IT, Telecommunications,
Defence and Legal. He has also acquired many years of hands-on experience
with the design of hardware and software products.
He graduated
at the end of 1988 with a Bachelor of Engineering with Distinction
in the discipline of Electronics Engineering. He began his career
at NEC Australia modifying the hardware and software of PABX and
telephony products to meet Australian Telecommunications regulatory
standards.
He continued
his career at Rockwell Systems Australia, where he was initially
employed as an embedded design engineer and later as a Project Manager,
working on the design and development of mission critical combat
and air traffic control systems.
He returned to
the Telecommunications industry in 1993 and worked for 9 years at
Fujitsu Australia within it's IT&T R&D facility. Whilst at
Fujitsu he managed teams of Hardware, Software and Test engineers
working on the development of complex telecommunications products
for the international market. In his later years at Fujitsu, he
project managed the IT Systems Administration & Quality
Management services function of the R&D facility. It was during
this later period that he was responsible for maintaining a
production level IT network domain as well as driving continuous
improved capability via the introduction of new tools and processes
into the R&D environment.
Paul now consults
to the IT&T and Defence industries as both a practitioner and mentor
in the fields of Project Management and Systems Engineering. He has particular specialist expertise in Specification
and Change Management practices and many years of hands-on
experience with the deployment of software based tools into
engineering environments.
He has been an
active user of the Telelogic DOORS® Requirements tool
since 1997. He's an active participant in the DOORS User Group
forums and conferences, having attended conferences in Australia,
the USA and the UK. He won the best paper and presentation award at
the DOORS 2000 User Group conference in the USA
He has also been engaged by the Legal Industry to provide expert
advice on e-business related ventures.
Paul is a
national committee member
of the Systems Engineering Society Of Australia (SESA).
